ROSEMONT, PA - The women's basketball team fell on the road Thursday evening by a 76-55 margin as Rosemont College blew open a five point lead early in the second stanza.
After watching PBU pull ahead 19-18 with nine minutes left in the opening frame, the Ravens closed out the period on a 16-10 run to take a 34-29 edge into the back end of play.
From there, things went south quickly for the visitors.
Rosemont opened the stanza with seven unanswered points and outpaced the Crimson Eagles 34-7 during the next 13 minutes of the second half. The host group drilled six triples during the span while forcing PBU into eight turnovers, building up a 32 point edge in the process.
Down 68-36 with just under seven minutes remaining, the Crimson Eagles continued to fight and brought the deficit to 21 before the final horn sounded thanks to a 19-8 rally to close out the contest. But it was too little, too late for the visitors as Rosemont collected their their first conference win of the year following Thursday's skirmish.
The Ravens used 20 offensive rebounds for the game to help post a 24-6 edge in points in the paint. Rosemont also knocked down 9 of 17 triples on the night en route to their greatest point production of the season.
The Crimson Eagles - who shot just 29 percent from the floor despite hitting 8 of 16 attempts from long range - had four players log double figures for the game. Dani Bradley-Wilson put up her third double-double of the young season with 15 points and 10 boards while Careth Herron added 15 and 9, respectively. Haley Weber finished with 11 points and Sara Poole added 10.
The Crimson Eagles drop to 1-5 on the year following the loss.
PBU will look to turn the table on Saturday during a huge game against Baptist Bible College. The Crimson Eagles will spar with the Defenders in Langhorne with tip-off time slated for 5:00 pm.
