MSOE women's basketball drops NAC opener against Benedictine

Sophomore Heather Miller scored a career-high 22 points and grabbed ten rebounds but the Raiders fell to Benedictine 80-69 in both teams' first NAC game of the season. For Miller, it was her first double double of her career. She was 8-13 from the field at the Kern Center Wednesday night.

Junior Carol Cayo had another double double with 13 points and 12 rebounds. Sophomore Cate Scholfield contributed a career-high 11 points for the Raiders. Junior Kathleen Collingbourne and freshman Stephanie Haugen each scored eight points. MSOE led by three at halftime but the Eagles outdistanced the Raiders 45-31 in the second half.

The Raiders (1-2, 0-1 NAC) will face Maranatha Baptist in Watertown, Wis. Saturday at 1 p.m.
