BROOKLYN, NY - The women's basketball team struggled on the offensive end Saturday afternoon against Polytechnic University, dropping a 62-45 decision to the Fighting Blue Jays.

Hitting just 4 of 21 shots during the opening frame, the Crimson Eagles knocked down 30.0 percent of their attempts for the game, a number that signals their lowest mark of the season thus far. Polytechnic used PBU's cold hand to sprint out to a 16-4 edge nine minutes into the contest en route to a 30-18 lead by the time the first 20 minutes had expired.

Despite an impressive 13 of 14 effort from the charity stripe, the Crimson Eagles were unable to combat a 30-12 disadvantage regarding points in the paint as the Blue Jays utilized a pair of 6'0 giants on the interior to control the middle of the floor. Polytechnic's twin tower tandem of Margaux Pickell and Kristin Leitheuser combined for 36 points, 14 boards and 11 assists in the win, leading the New York squad to their third triumph of the season.

The visitors were paced by Sara Poole's 12 points and 8 rebounds while Dani Bradley-Wilson put up 12 and 6, respectively.

The Crimson Eagles will look to rebound on Tuesday during a date with Trinity University in Langhorne. PBU's first home game of the season will begin at 7:00 pm against the Tigers.
