Worcester, MA-Rhode Island College junior guard Stephanie Coro (North Providence, RI) scored over 20 points for the fifth straight game with 21 as the Anchorwomen improved to 4-1 with a 65-51 win at WPI. The Engineers, who were playing their home opener, drop to 2-2 on the season. |

Junior forward Rachel Riley (Coventry, RI) posted 14 points, seven rebounds and three steals, while senior guard Lauren Harrington (Exeter, RI) grabbed a team-high nine rebounds to go along with six points, three assists, two steals and a block. |

Coro keyed a 11-0 RIC run midway through the first half helping to turn a 15-12 deficit into a 23-15 advantage. The junior potted eight points during the decisive spurt, including a pair of three-pointers. In all, Coro drained her first six attempts from the field on way to 16 first half points in helping the Anchorwomen take a 37-24 lead into the locker room at the break. |

The Anchorwomen defense also played a huge role, parlaying 25 WPI turnovers into 22 points. The visitors also played well in the paint, outscoring the Engineers 38-28, and in transition where they held a 20-10 edge in fast break points. |

The guests had seven players with multiple assists on the day, including junior guards Nicole Girard (Foster, RI) and Brittney Saccoccio (Glocester, RI). Coro and Harrington added three apiece. |

Lauren Hannmann (East Greenbush, NY) came off the bench to lead WPI in scoring with 11 points on the day. Senior tri-captain Elle Fontaine (Franklin, MA) narrowly missed her 11th career double-double, notching nine points and hauling in a game-best 10 rebounds for the hosts. The Engineers also received seven points each from Theresa Logan (Southboro, MA) and Siena Mamayek (Melrose, MA) and six from Kelly Morgan (Brookline, MA). The WPI bench was a source of strength behind Hannmann, Mamayek and Morgan, helping the Crimson and Gray reserves outscore its RIC counterparts 30-11. |
