CHICAGO, IL - With a couple of towers patrolling the interior Friday night, Moody Bible College all but had their way with the Crimson Eagles in the paint during a 12 point victory for the Archers.
With an abundance of trees in the middle, Moody used their length to pummel the Crimson Eagles with 28 offensive rebounds - dishing PBU a taste of their own medicine following 26 Crimson Eagle offensive boards against Northland International less than 24 hours ago.
The Archers turned their work on the glass in 21 second chance points, helping to overcome a mediocre 37.0 shooting percentage for the night. Additionally, PBU failed to aid their own efforts by coughing up the ball 21 times for the game, a number that ended nine more than their counterpart.
The result was 25 extra hoists at the hoop for Moody as the Archers fired 81 shots throughout the 40 minute affair while PBU managed just 56 attempts. Careth Herron's hot hand wasn't enough to overcome the dramatic deficit despite 26 points and 10 boards.
Up 32-26 during the intermission, Moody utilized a 22-9 run to open up the back end of play, breaking open a 54-35 edge in what ended up being their largest lead of the contest. The Crimson Eagles managed to cut the advantage to 12 but couldn't dwindle the deficit to single digits the rest of the way.
Danielle Bradley-Wilson put up her second straight double double with 11 points and 11 rebounds and Sara Poole added 10 points for PBU.
The group will wrap up their trip to Chicago Saturday afternoon during a date with 5:00 pm date with Grace Bible College.
