The Millikin women's basketball team lost to Marian University 85-81 in the Coaches vs. Cancer Tournament at Millikin on Nov. 21.
Both teams shot the ball well in the face paced contest with Marian hitting on 54 percent of its shots while the Big Blue shot 51 percent. Marian was 10-19 (53 percent) from three point range and Millikin was 6-10 from three point land for 60 percent. Millikin struggled from the free throw line hitting only 66 percent of its attempts including 44 percent in the first half. Millikin won the battle on the boards 31-26. Marian committed 16 turnovers compared to Millikin's 20.
Millikin's Elise Wildman had a career high 34 points. Julie Robert had 18 points and a team high nine rebounds.
Marian had four players in double figures led by Whitley Emerson with 18. Natalie Robinson had 17, Natasha Marshall had 15 and Rachel Turk had 13.
Millikin will travel to Wisconsin-Stevens Point on Tuesday, Nov. 23.
