Oswego State Wins Tournament Title With 67-55 Victory Over Cobleskill

The Oswego State women's basketball team used a balanced attack to upend Cobleskill 67-55 in the championship game of the Max Ziel Basketball Tournament Saturday afternoon. The win moved the Lakers to 3-0 overall, and the loss dropped Cobleskill to 1-2.

Oswego State had five players score between 10 and 12 points in the game, picking apart the Fighting Tiger defense. Colleen McCready led the Lakers with 12 points and 13 rebounds, while Kayla Ryan added 11 points and 8 rebounds, and Kristen Diglio cashed in 11 points including three three-pointers. Lauren Nunziato and Jenna Rossi each chipped in 10 points , helping to give the Lakers a 27-9 bench scoring advantage.
 
The Lakers used 15 points off 13 Tiger turnovers in the first half to create a 34-28 halftime advantage. Cobleskill closed the deficit to four points at 57-53, with six minutes remaining, however, Oswego State closed the game on a 10-2 run to remain undefeated and win the tournament title.
 
Tanayzha Augustine finished with 13 points and 11 rebounds to pace the Tigers. Alexis Hauser and Kaitlin Myers added 11 and 10 points, respectively.
