The Millikin women's basketball team lost to the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire 62-48 in the first game of Millikin's Coaches vs. Cancer Tournament on Nov. 19.
Both teams are now 1-1 on the season.
Millikin struggled from the field in the game shooting only 30 percent including 20 percent (4-20) from three point range. Eau Claire hit on 34 percent of its shots including 33 percent from three point range. Eau Claire held a 47-37 rebounding edge.
Millikin turned the ball over 27 times while forcing 25 Eau Claire turnovers.
Eau Claire's Hannah Mesick was too much for the Big Blue scoring 23 points and grabbing 14 rebounds. Nicole Christianson added 16 points for the Blugolds.
Millikin's top scorer was Elise Wildman with 15 points followed by Cecily Aldridge with 13 points. Wildman led Millikin with eight rebounds.
The Blugolds will play Marian University on Saturday in the tournament. Millikin will face the Marian Knights on Sunday at 3 p.m.
