BOSTON, Mass. (2/22/2025) – The Nichols College men's basketball team had a rough go of it in their regular season finale on Saturday afternoon, falling to host Suffolk University, 105-65 inside Smith Court.

The Bison move to 13-12 (10-8 CNE) overall, and lock up the No. 5 seed in the 2024-25 Conference of New England Tournament. This year will mark the program's 13th consecutive postseason berth, with the exclusion of the shortened 2020-21 pandemic season.

Leading the way for Nichols was sophomore Simon Percy, who shot 7-of-12 (58.3%) from the field to finish with a team-high 15 points. Ryan SavoyJaven Flowers-Smith and Olivier St. Louis each pitched in 10 points, with St. Louis also led the team in rebounds with eight on the night. The Bison shot a solid 26-of-61 (42.6%) from the field, but struggled to find their range, going just 6-of-22 (27.3%) from beyond the three-point arc.

Suffolk applied pressure right out of the gate, jumping out to a dominant 26-9 lead through game's opening 10 minutes. Nichols looked to close the gap on a handful of occasions throughout the half, moving as close as 11 points on a Flowers-Smith layup at 6:31, but came up short in their endeavors as Suffolk ended the half with a 14-0 run, giving them a lopsided 52-28 edge at the break.

The Rams went on to out-score Nichols 54-42 in the second half, powering their way to a 105-65 win at home. Despite the outcome, the Bison saw a significantly improved shooting performance in the second half, going 18-of-34 (52.9%) from the field with Percy scoring 10 of his 15 total points.

The Bison will look to put the finale behind them, as they gear up to take on No. 4 seeded Roger Williams University (17-8, 12-6 CNE) in the 2024-25 Conference of New England (CNE) Tournament First Round. Official game time is set for 5:30 PM in Bristol, Rhode Island.
