RC will host Ferrum Wednesday in ODAC First Round

The Short story: The Roanoke College men's basketball team, ranked No. 23 NCAA Division III, pulled away in the second half Saturday to defeat The Apprentice School 92-64 in non-conference action on Senior Day. The program's two seniors, Joshua McClary and Joshua Morse, were honored in a pre-game ceremony.
The Maroons enter the 2025 Old Dominion Athletic Conference Tournament as the No. 3 seed and will host sixth-seeded Ferrum College Wednesday night at 7 p.m. in the first round. The winner advances to the semifinals to play the winner of No. 2 Hampden-Sydney/No. 7 Lynchburg in the tournament semifinals Saturday at 4:30 p.m. in the Salem Civic Center. The Championship game is Sunday at 1 p.m. back in the Civic Center.
How it happened:
*The Builders led 5-4 early, but a 15-3 Maroon surge gave RC a 19-8 edge.
*Roanoke had a 9-0 run later in the first half and led 39-23 at halftime.
*The Maroon lead was 12 with 12:44 left in the game, but a 7-0 run made the score 62-43 and the advantage would later extend to 30.
Inside the numbers:
*Patrick Clevenger scored a career-high 15 points and also grabbed seven rebounds.
*Marcus Morgan 13 points and corralled nine rebounds.
*Jackson Bell scored 14 points, while Gavin O'Malley had 12.
*Ryan Truitt posted nine points and added five assists; Caleb Franze netted a career-best nine points in only seven minutes.
*McClary had nine rebounds, six assists, three points and two steals.
*Morse contributed four points and seven rebounds while Porter Stanley had six points and four rebounds.
*Clayton Gaither added seven points and six rebounds.
*Kurji Harrell had 19 points and 11 rebounds for Apprentice.
