THOUSAND, OAKS, Calif. – Four Kingsmen recorded double-digit points as Cal Lutheran topped Occidental 88-76 on Saturday night.

Star guard Devon Lewis continued his memorable senior campaign, leading the way with 27 points. Tommy Griffitts, Nick Attanasio, and Jake Martin, tallied 13, 10, and 10 respectively.

It was a back-and-forth start, with the two teams trading blows for the first 10 minutes of the half. Cal Lutheran (16-3, 9-1) found themselves down 17-21, before an 11-0 run put the Kingsmen up seven. It was smooth sailing the rest of the half, as they would take a 46-36 lead into halftime.

The Kingsmen came out of the break firing, going on a 9-2 run. The Kingsmen looked to be cruising, up 78-58 with under eight minutes left to play. The Tigers (5-10, 2-6) would not go away quietly, however, going on a 14-3 run to cut the lead to nine with 3:07 left to play. They were never able to cut the deficit any further, and the Kingsmen held on for their seventh-straight win.

"Occidental didn't go away, credit to them. We made some free throws and got some stops when it mattered. On to La Verne," Head Coach Russell White said.
