BW Men's Basketball Surges Past Heidelberg in Commanding OAC Performance

BEREA, Ohio – The Baldwin Wallace University men's basketball team defeated Heidelberg University in an Ohio Athletic Conference matchup by a final score of 91-85 in the Ursprung Gymnasium inside of the Lou Higgins Center.

BW Leaders (9-11, 5-8 OAC)

  • Junior All-OAC guard Ray Ellington (Westlake) dominated for the Jackets with a team-high 29 points, five rebounds, one assist and one steal
  • Junior guard Myles Reynolds (Cleveland / St. Edward) tallied 24 points with five rebounds, three steals and two assists

Heidelberg Leaders (13-7, 9-4 OAC)

  • Junior guard Elijah Harden notched 23 points with four assists, one rebound and one steal
  • Sophomore guard Markell Johnson-Nichols put up 19 points with six rebounds, three assists and one steal

First Half

  • BW outscored Heidelberg 50-30
  • The Jackets provided the most assists with 13
  • The Brown and Gold won the three-pointer battle by a 9-2 margin

Second Half

  • The Student Princes outscored BW 55-41
  • BW tied Heidelberg with six assists
  • The Yellow Jackets scored the most three-pointers with seven total

BW is back in action on Saturday, Feb. 8 as it travels to Bexley for an OAC matchup against Capital University. The game is set to begin at 3 p.m. in the Performance Arena inside the Capital Center.
