Brooklyn, N.Y. - (1/28/2025) - In the first-ever and first of back-to-back Atlantic East Conference (AEC) contests versus league newcomer Pratt Institute (0-18, 0-6), Gywnedd Mercy University (16-3, 4-2) forced 31 Cannoneers turnovers en route to a 76-60 victory. The Red and Gold never trailed Pratt Institute as they scored first basket of the game, 2-0 (19:40), led all the way to a 39-30 (0:29) halftime spread, and gave the home team little chance at a comeback in a 16-point win. Senior guard Aquil Stewart (Philadelphia, Pa.) led the Griffins with 23 points; he was 9-of-17 (.529) from the floor with three three-point baskets (3-of-7, .429) and a couple of free throws (2-of-2, 1.000) in addition to two rebounds, three assists, and six of the Griffins' 23 steals.

- Gwynedd Mercy University hit 45.2% (28-of-62) from the field, 37.0% (10-of-27) from three-point range, and 72.2% (13-of-18) from the free throw line.
- The Griffins totaled 30 points off of Pratt Institute's turnovers. They also scored 22 of them in the paint and 27 of them on the fastbreak.
- The Red and Gold's largest lead of the first half was 12 points; 31-19 (3:33), and their largest lead of the second half was 23 points, 77-54 (:45).
- In addition to Stewart, senior guard Mike Marable (Philadelphia, Pa.) (15 points) and graduate guard Dylan Harris (Bloomsburg, Pa.) (10) also scored in double figures. The former also provided five rebounds, four assists, three blocks, and two steals.
