MEMPHIS - The Berry Vikings Men's Basketball team completed their SAA road trip this evening at Rhodes, defeating them 77-74.

Led by senior Braxton Benham's 26-points and a team effort to hold the Lynx to only four made threes combined with only 8 offensive boards, lifted Berry to victory.

Berry knew they would have to be strong on both ends of the floor tonight, especially on defensive as Rhodes averages almost 73 points per game.

The Vikings fought all forty minutes to force 21 turnovers, a number that ties the season high for the Lynx from back when they played Covenant in November. Those turnovers turned into 30 points for Berry, 13 in the first half and 17 in the second.

Offensively, leading season scorer, Benham led the team with 26 and Isaac Martin chimed in 14 which included three triples. Coming off the bench was a great duo to combine for 15 points - Canon Armstead and Ryan Luttrell.

Berry led the game from the tip with the home team tying it at eleven seven minutes in and taking a lead on their next possession.

From that point on there were a lot of traded baskets with the score fluctuating but the Vikings were unable to build a comfortable lead. Tied at 17, Luttrell nailed a big three to spark some momentum, but Rhodes was able to answer with one of their own.

Six points for Benham in the last minute and a half of the first half helped the Vikings in a 39-37 lead.

In the second, Berry went up as much as nine points early after a Parker Godwin three (55-46) and then Jacob Morgan's triple took the lead to 16 later down the line with 7:42 left to play.

Across that time, the Lynx found a 14-2 run to flip the script with big free throws and buckets, now the Vikings had to hang on for the last two minutes at 70-66. Drew Winegarden's three really benefited Berry late as they held on to complete the road sweep of their SAA opponents this weekend.

Next up, the Vikings return home to for a weekend stance of the same teams, taking on Hendrix Friday and Rhodes on Saturday.
