BW Men's Basketball Falls to Marietta in Close OAC Game on Home Court

BEREA, Ohio – The Baldwin Wallace University men's basketball team fell to Marietta College in an Ohio Athletic Conference matchup by a final score of 70-68 in the Ursprung Gymnasium inside of the Lou Higgins Center.

BW Leaders (7-8, 3-5 OAC)

  • Junior All-OAC guard Ray Ellington (Westlake) scored a team-high 22 points with six rebounds, two blocks and one steal
  • Sophomore forward AJ Pestello (Cuyahoga Falls / Stow-Munroe Falls) put up 16 points with nine rebounds and one assist

Marietta Leaders (9-6, 3-5 OAC)

  • Junior guard Danny Flood tallied 16 points with three rebounds and one steal
  • Senior guard De'Ovion Price notched 14 points with four rebounds, two assists and two steals

First Half

  • Marietta outscored BW 32-31
  • The Yellow Jackets won the three-pointer battle by a 6-3 margin
  • The Brown and Gold had the most assists with seven

Second Half

  • The Pioneers outscored BW 38-37
  • The Yellow Jackets provided the most assists with eight
  • BW recorded the most three-pointers with four total

The Yellow Jackets are back in action on Wednesday, Jan. 22 as they host crosstown-rival John Carroll University in an OAC matchup. The game is set to begin at 7 p.m. in the Ursprung Gymnasium inside the Lou Higgins Center.
