Men’s Basketball Falls to Pfeiffer in USA South Action

Misenheimer, NC - The N.C. Wesleyan men's basketball team dropped to 0-2 in USA South conference play on Tuesday night, falling to Pfeiffer 91-73 in a road contest.

Graduate guard Marquis Eskew was a force driving the lane for the Bishops, leading the team with a strong performance. Eskew tallied nineteen points and three rebounds while hitting eight field goals. Khalid Chavid-Hinds also delivered one of his best offensive performances of the season, scoring fourteen points and grabbing two rebounds.

Despite these efforts, Pfeiffer's hot shooting proved too much for the Bishops. The Falcons shot over 50% from the floor, with Daymon Beckwith posting 22 points in just 26 minutes, including eight field goals. Alex Cunningham and Doug Smith each added solid performances, scoring nearly fifteen points apiece and sinking seven field goals each.

The Bishops struggled to keep pace with the Falcons' offensive efficiency. Pfeiffer dominated in transition, scoring 35 fast-break points while outrebounding NCWU 48-37. The Falcons also controlled the paint, outscoring Wesleyan 46-36 inside.
