BW Men's Basketball Shields Comets in Capital OAC Victory

BEREA, Ohio – The Baldwin Wallace University men's basketball team defeated Capital University in an Ohio Athletic Conference matchup by a final score of 79-65 in the Ursprung Gymnasium inside of the Lou Higgins Center.

BW Leaders (6-5, 2-2 OAC)

  • Sophomore guard Titus Baskerville IV (Stow / Stow-Munroe Falls) led the way with 22 points, five assists and five steals
  • Sophomore forward AJ Pestello (Cuyahoga Falls / Stow-Munroe Falls) tallied 16 points with eight rebounds, two assists, one block and one steal

Capital Leaders (4-7, 1-3 OAC)

  • Senior wing player Dom Moegerle notched 16 points with nine rebounds, two assists and one steal
  • Senior guard Alex Eyink scored 12 points with five rebounds and two assists

First Half

  • BW outscored Capital 37-23
  • The Yellow Jackets led in assists with eight
  • The Brown and Gold won the three-pointer battle by a 4-2 margin

Second Half

  • The Yellow Jackets tied the Comets with 42 points
  • Capital scored the most three-pointers with five total
  • The Comets provided the most assists with nine

The Yellow Jackets are back in action on Wednesday, Jan. 8 as they're on the road for an OAC contest against Heidelberg University. The game is set to begin at 7 p.m. inside of Seiberling Gymnasium.
