Virginia Beach, VA - The N.C. Wesleyan men's basketball team earned a hard-fought 65-58 victory over Averett on Sunday afternoon, led by an historic milestone from graduate student guard Marquis Eskew. Eskew reached 1,000 career points during the game, finishing with thirteen points, four rebounds, and a key role in the Bishops' win.

Big man Kyron Kelly paced NCWU with fifteen points and eight rebounds, dominating the paint on both ends of the floor. Forward Markquan Gilbert also delivered a crucial performance for NCWU, adding ten points and five rebounds while helping spread the floor effectively.

The Bishops shot 41% from the field and leveraged its size to dominate the boards, out-rebounding Averett 44-34. NCWU's defense was formidable, holding Averett to just 4-of-15 shooting (26.7%) from beyond the arc.

NCWU found its offensive rhythm inside, especially in the second half, scoring an impressive 48 of its 65 points in the paint.
