Junior guard Isaac Ward scored 23 points during a 13-minute stretch that covered both first and second halves as Ohio Wesleyan turned a 10-point deficit into an 8-point lead on the way to a 79-67 win over Lancaster Bible at the Music City Classic, hosted by Welch College on Thursday in Gallatin, Tenn.

The Chargers got a pair of 3-pointers from Camden Hurst and another by Reaves Hooks during an 11-4 run that opened up a 27-17 lead with 7:50 left in the first half, but Ohio Wesleyan collected 3-pointers by junior wing Jessee Battle, senior guard Henry Hinkle, and Ward before Ward buried 3-pointers on consecutive possessions to close out a 15-5 spurt that evened the score at 32.

Ward drilled another 3-pointer during the final minute of the half to break a 34-34 tie and put the Bishops ahead to stay, then opened the second half with 3-pointers on Ohio Wesleyan's first 2 possessions before another Battle trifecta and a lay-in by fifth-year post Tony Carter made it 48-41.

Lancaster Bible answered with a 3-pointer by Luke Brumbaugh and a jumper by Tyshaun Pulley to pull within 2, but the Bishops countered with a 3-pointer from senior wing David Rice and a 3-point play by Ward for a 56-48 lead with 12:48 remaining.

Hurst hit a 3-pointer to bring the Chargers within 5 points, but that was as close as Lancaster Bible would come.  Another Rice 3-pointer and a lay-in by junior wing Quinn Corna gave the Bishops a 61-51 lead with 9:08 left, and the margin would remain at least 8 points throughout the remainder of the contest.

Ward led the Bishops with a career-high 32 points.  Hinkle scored 13 points and shared the team lead with 7 assists, Carter finished with 11 points and snared a team-best 8 boards, Battle contributed 10 points, and senior post Phil Wallace shared the team lead with a career-high 7 assists.
