RAMAPO MEN'S BASKETBALL POSTS BIG WIN OVER TCNJ, 88-76

Mahwah, NJ:  The Ramapo College men's basketball team used a big first half to overtake the College of New Jersey today in NJAC action, 88-76. The Roadrunners moved to 7-3 overall and 3-2 in the NJAC while the Lions drop to 7-3 overall and 2-3 in the league.

Ramapo held TCNJ to just 24 points in the first half as the Roadrunners went up 41-24 at halftime. In the second half, Ramapo took a 19-point lead on back-to-back three-pointers from Anthony Corbo and Justin Bladen, 47-28. A 7-5 mini run by Ramapo was capped off with a three from Corbo which gave the Roadrunners a 54-33 lead with 14:40 left to play. With 8:26 on the clock, Ramapo took their biggest lead of the game, 67-44, when Peter Gorman and Shane Rooney scored a three and a jumper respectively. With less than two minutes left to play, Nick Koch sank a three-pointer to cut the Ramapo lead to 11 before Ramapo scored their next six points from the free throw line. Tim Linton scored the final basket for Ramapo with a dunk while TCNJ scored the final five points on the floor with a three-pointer from Jack Vreeswyk and jumper from Thomas Menyhert. 

Gorman led the way for the Roadrunners in the second straight game posted 26 points as he finished 7-14 from the field, 2-5 from three as he was perfect from the line (10-10). He also posted four rebounds, four assists and one steal. Corbo added 15 points, six rebounds and one assist while Jordan Myers added 14 points, four rebounds and three assists. Justin Bladen posted 11 points including three three-pointers while he added two rebounds. Shane Rooney recorded nine points and seven rebounds while Tim Linton led the way with eight rebounds with five points and two assists. Ramapo shot 53% (31-58) from the field, 50% (7-14) from the three-point line and 90% (19-21) from the free throw line.

For TCNJ, Koch led the team with 21 points while Solomon added 16 points and a team high 11 rebounds. David Alexandre added 14 points while Vreeswyk posted 13 points. The Lions shot 42% (28-66) from the field, 30% (10-33) from the three-point line and 52% (10-19) from the free throw line.

The Roadrunners return to action on December 28th when they travel to the D3hoops.com Classic in Las Vegas, NV. Ramapo will take on Mount Union on the 28th and Whittier College on December 29th while both games are scheduled for a 6pm EST start time.
