RAMAPO EARNS ROAD WIN OVER SARAH LAWRENCE, 75-64

Bronxville, NY:  The Ramapo College men's basketball team earned their fourth win of the season with a 75-64 road victory over Sarah Lawrence College. The Roadrunners move to 4-2 overall while the Gryphons move to 3-4 on the year.

Sarah Lawrence opened the game on a 16-2 run in the first half before Ramapo battled back to cut the Gryphon lead, 23-29. Ramapo poured in 21 points as Elijah Barlow posted seven, Anthony Corbo scored four, Tim Linton and Tyrell Murchison each added three while Jordan Myers and Branden Moore added two points each. The first half was evenly played the final six minutes of action as Sarah Lawrence went into the locker room with a 38-33 lead.

Ramapo opened the second half on a 21-7 run which lasted over eight minutes and gave the Roadrunners a significant lead. Corbo started the run with a jumper before Peter Gorman sank a three-pointer and was fouled. He converted the four-point play to give Ramapo a 39-38 lead with 17:42 on the clock. Justin Bladen sank a basket before the Gryphons retook the lead with a basket and a pair of free throws with just over 15 minutes on the clock. Moore connected on a free throw to tie the game at 42 before Gorman sank a jumper and a three-pointer sandwiched between a pair of free throws from Corbo, 49-42. Ramapo scored four more points while Sarah Lawrence snapped the run with a three-pointer as Ramapo led, 54-45. The three-pointer from Gryphons started a 14-1 run that gave them a one point lead with 6:32 on the clock as Eamon Kelly sank a three-pointer, 56-55. Ramapo poured in 14 points including four three-pointers over the next 4:53 of the game giving them a 69-64 lead. With 1:22 on the clock Corbo sank a pair of key free throws to extend the lead, 71-64. Ramapo scored the final four points of the game on the free throw line to come home with the 75-64 win. Ramapo outscored Sarah Lawrence 42-26 in the second half.

Peter Gorman led the way for Ramapo with 20 points including five made three-pointers with three assists and two rebounds. Barlow added 19 points as he finished 8-11 from the field with two rebounds and two assists. Corbo pulled down a team high 12 rebounds while adding 11 points for a double-double. Moore and Linton each contributed with six points and one assist while Linton added two blocks and three rebounds. The team shot 47% (25-53) from the field, 80% (8-10) from beyond the three-point line and 81% (17-21) from the free throw line.

The Gryphons were led by Eamon Kelly who tallied a game high 24 points including five three-pointers while adding seven rebounds, three steals and three assists. Dean Furlong added nine points and four rebounds and four assists while Braden Burman posted nine points. Chris Dougherty pulled down a team high 11 rebounds while adding five points and three blocks. The team shot 33% (22-66) from the field, 31% (12-38) from the three-point line and 61% (8-13) from the free throw line.

The Roadrunners return to action on Wednesday, December 4th when they host Kean University in NJAC conference action at 7:30 PM.
