OAC Opener Ends in Victorious Fashion for BW Men’s Basketball Over Ohio Northern

BEREA, Ohio – The Baldwin Wallace University men's basketball team defeated Ohio Northern University in its Ohio Athletic Conference opener by a final score of 69-67 in the Ursprung Gymnasium inside of the Lou Higgins Center.

BW Leaders (3-2, 1-0 OAC)

  • Junior All-OAC guard Ray Ellington (Westlake) led the way with a team-high 19 points, providing an assist and five rebounds
  • Junior guard Myles Reynolds (Cleveland / St. Edward) tallied 15 points with a steal and four rebounds
  • Sophomore forward AJ Pestello (Cuyahoga Falls / Stow-Munroe Falls) scored 12 points, notching five blocks, two steals and eight rebounds

Ohio Northern Leaders (4-2, 0-1 OAC)

  • Sophomore guard Carter Reese tallied a team-high 25 points and provided an assist
  • Sophomore forward Cayden Jacoby scored 14 points with three assists and two steals

First Half

  • The Yellow Jackets outscored the Polar Bears 31-29
  • BW won the three-pointer battle by a 3-0 margin
  • ONU provided the most assists with seven

Second Half

  • The Brown and Gold tied with ONU for 38 points
  • The Polar Bears had the most assists with eight
  • BW made the most three-pointers with four

The Yellow Jackets are back in action on Tuesday, Nov. 26 as they're on the road for a non-conference game against Penn State Behrend. The game is set to begin at 6 p.m. inside of Junker Center.
