LANGHORNE, PA – Cairn Men's Basketball picked up their second-straight victory on Saturday afternoon, hosting conference foe Penn State Berks in a non-conference matchup where the Highlanders handedly took the win, 105-73.

The Highlanders opened up ahead by six early in the action with two quick triples from the hand of graduate guard Jaylon Simpson (Atlanta, GA / Belmont Abbey) and one from classmate Josiah Hardy (Ashburn, VA / Hampden-Sydney). Penn State Berks (0-6) cut it to a one-possession game before Hardy and graduate guard Corey Baldwin (Handerson, NC / Averett) scored again to push ahead by nine. Graduate guard Jeff Williamson (Brooklyn, NY / SUNY Potsdam) scored his first points of the season, a three after grabbing an offensive board to keep the possession alive. Fifth year forward Isaiah Coleman (Fontana, CA / Clarks Summit University) buried yet another three for Cairn (2-2) as the lead was getting out of hand. Simpson sent home a big dunk with three and change to play as the Nittany Lions began to get into foul trouble, putting Cairn on the line. Coleman and Baldwin cashed in again from behind the arc as the score finished 56-32 after twenty minutes.

Hardy got the first score out of the break on a layup with senior guards Jonathan Desir (Feasterville, PA / Neshaminy) and Christian Rivera (Cayey, Puerto Rico, Central Bucks East) getting in on the action as well. Coleman hit again from deep with junior guard Moses Ilodigwe (Wilmington, DE / Lycoming College) splashing a three from the corner on a baseline out of bounds play. Baldwin made another three with Williamson adding two quick layups as the lead pressed to thirty-five. Junior forward Andre Burrel, Jr. (Philadelphia, PA / Burlington Co. Institute of Technology) took over with two layups and a pair of free throws. Freshman guard Andrew DaCosta (Bordentown, NJ / Bordentown Region) scored four points late and sophomore guard Luke Cughan (Bloomsburg, PA / Columbia County Christian) capped things off with a layup as the Highlanders won 105-73.

Hardy was the leading scorer with a game-high 25 points, 8 rebounds, and a pair of blocked shots. Senior guard Ashton West (Newport Beach, CA / Clarks Summit University) had 17 while Coleman made a trio of three-pointers helping him get to 11 points. As a group, the Highlander squad shot 47.8% (43-90) from the field with 33 second chance points as they crashed the boards. A strong 58 points in the paint and 51 points off of the bench were the deciding factor on Saturday.
