MBB: Panthers shine with statement win over Rhode Island College

 

PLYMOUTH, N.H. The Plymouth State University men's basketball team defeated the Rhode Island College Anchormen, 70-48, in a Little East Conference (LEC) game at Foley Gymnasium on Saturday afternoon.

Senior Kyler Bosse (Manchester, N.H.) recorded a double-double, leading all scorers with 20 points and bringing down 12 rebounds for the Panthers. Classmate Christian Barr (Henniker, N.H.) and freshman Ivan Yen (Concord, N.H.) each tallied 10 points in the winning effort.

The win keeps Plymouth State in LEC playoff contention, winning each of the last two with four conference games remaining in the regular season.

Plymouth State improves to 7-14 (3-9 LEC), while Rhode Island College falls to 13-9 (6-7 LEC).

  • The Panthers controlled play from the first whistle, taking a commanding 16-3 lead with 8:40 remaining in the first half – holding the opponent to a single field goal in that stretch.
  • Rhode Island College found its bearings, responding with a 9-2 run to cut the game to 21-15 with 3:48 on the clock until halftime.
  • Plymouth State pulled things back to a double-digit advantage with a 28-16 halftime lead.
  • The Panthers mirrored the first half start with a 16-4 streak to increase the margin to 24 points, 44-20, at the 14:05 mark in the second.
  • Plymouth State stayed on course, keeping a sizable advantage to close out the second half with a comfortable conference win.
