Knights Fall at Hobart, 82-62

Geneva, NY – Ryan Miles-Ferguson scored a game-high 19 points, but a slow stretch in the first half put the Clarkson University Men's Basketball team in an early hole as the Golden Knights fell to Hobart College, 82-62, in Liberty League play Friday night.

The Golden Knights fell to 11-9 overall and 5-8 in conference games, while Hobart improved to 16-4 and 9-4. Clarkson will try to get back on track against RIT on Saturday afternoon.

Things looked promising in the early going for Clarkson as the team had seven points in the first two minutes after a Ryan Miles-Ferguson 3-pointer, but Hobart went on an 18-2 run in a stretch of less than seven minutes, running the score to 23-9 at the midway point of the half. The least expanded to 16 two minutes later and then to 20 on a pair of free throws from Pat Healy with less than two minutes to go. Clarkson would get back to within 17 at the break.

Seventeen points would be as close as Clarkson would ever get, however, twice cutting the margin to that figure in the second half. With the gap set at 17 early in the second half, Hobart all but put the game away with a 15-3 run to double up the Knights, 58-29. Clarkson would get back to within 19 with just over six minutes to go thanks to back-to-back 3-pointers from Braeden Burns, but another 8-0 run by the Statesmen ended any hopes of a comeback.

Ryan Miles-Ferguson finished with 19 points in the game, while Braeden Burns had 17 points on 5-for-10 shooting. For Hobart, Isaiah Washington scored 13 on 5-for-8 shooting, Pat Healy had 11 points on 4-for-8 shooting, and Aidan Rodgers chipped in eight points and four assists.
