Jack Broderick Nets Career-high in Win over Hartwick, 93-64

ROCHESTER, NY – Junior Jack Broderick scored a career-high 27 points on 12-of-13 from the floor as Nazareth took down Hartwick 93-64 on Friday night. The Golden Flyers finished the game shooting nearly 61 percent from the floor, on 39-of-64.
 
With the win, Nazareth is now 11-6 overall and 8-1 in league play, while the Hawks drop to 1-15 and 0-9.
 
Broderick connected on eight of his first nine shots to lead Nazareth with 17 points at the half.
 
Nazareth's largest lead of the first came after back-to-back 3-pointers from sophomore Solomon McFarlane. After his second triple it was 27-14 with 11:49 left in the half. He was 5-of-8 in the game for 13 points.
 
Over the next seven minutes, the Hawks outscored Nazareth 16-4 to pull within 31-30. It was 46-37 in favor of Nazareth at halftime.
 
The second half belonged fully to the Golden Flyers as they shot nearly 65 percent (20-of-31) to Hartwick's 11-of-34.
 
A nine-point halftime lead quickly ballooned to 62-42 at the 14:38 mark and the home team led by at least 20 points the rest of the way. 
 
Logan Blankenberg had another solid outing with 19 points on 8-for-10 from the floor, to go along with seven rebounds and five assists.  Luke Insley had a game-high nine assists and three steals. Jordan Haggard chipped in 12 points and seven rebounds. 
 
Nazareth returns to action on Saturday, hosting Sage at 4 p.m. Prior to the game, Nazareth will honor the 40thanniversary of the 1983-84 men's basketball team that had run to the Elite 8 of the NCAA Tournament. Members of the team, along with the coaching staff will be in attendance.
