Tengbeh and Kourouma Power RIC Past Southern Maine, 70-67

Providence, R.I.--Senior forward Ousmane Kourouma (Woonsocket, R.I.) scored 20 points and grabbed 12 rebounds for his 15th double-double of the season as Rhode Island College defeated Southern Maine, 60-57, in Little East men's basketball action played at The Murray Center on Wednesday night.

HOW IT HAPPENED
• The Huskies utilized the deep ball in the first half, shooting 6-for-10 from beyond the three-point arc in the first 11 minutes of the game to build a 26-18 lead.
 
• After no points were scored by either club for over four minutes, a three-pointer by sophomore guard Isaiah Dahl (Cornelius, Ore.) would pull the Anchorwomen within five, 32-27, at halftime.
 
• The Anchormen jumped out with a 10-2 run to start the second half and took a three point, 37-34, lead with 14:37 left in the game.
 
• With neither team leading for more than three points for most of the second half, a pair of free throws by Kourouma gave RIC a 56-55 lead with 1:43 left in the game.
 
• Freshman guard CJ Wilson (Hartford, Conn.) went 4-for-4 from the free throw line in the final minute of the game to close out the 60-57 win for the Anchormen.
 
• Junior guard Deyshawn Tengbeh (East Providence, R.I.) finished with 14 points and 11 rebounds for his fourth double-double this season.
