Vikings Surpass 100 in Victory over Sewanee

SEWANEE, Tenn. - Vikings Basketball (7-9 overall, 4-1 SAA) flew right past SAA opponent Sewanee (5-11 overall, 1-4 SAA) in today's road contest, 102-63.

With two Vikings surpassing the 20-point mark, Blake Campbell and Drew Winegarden, it was no surprise that Berry's scoring looked flawless across 40-minutes.

A 58-point first half stunned the Tigers. Sewanee's only lead would be the opening bucket, then the Vikings went crazy. With a 16-2 run, Winegarden hit his first of six threes and leading scorer, Blake Campbell had the first Vikings points (16-4).

With the Tigers hitting back-to-back three's they cut the lead to eight, but that just created more energy for Berry. They swung around a 15 points in six minutes with two threes as the team reached a 20-point advantage at 33-12.

Six minutes remained in the first half and as the Tigers were trying to make a comeback, Berry's five three's to close out the first left their Southern Athletic Association opponent doomed (58-31). The 27-point lead at halftime continued to grow in the next twenty minutes.

For Berry, Winegarden started the second half with another three! The dominant performance from the Vikings continued as they made big stops defensively and made the most of their possessions on the offensive end.

Sixteen straight points that was ignited by a dunk from Braxton Benham and kept alive by four three's boosted the lead back to thirty points and it never went under that again. When the clock hit the final three minutes, a forty point advantage looked rewarding as Berry had just surpassed their season high scoring record and then shorty hit over 100 points against the reigning SAA Champion who the Vikings claimed revenge on!
