Five Score Double Figures For Men's Hoops in Win At Keuka

KEUKA, NY – Graduate student Jordan Haggard led five double digit scorers on Tuesday night as Nazareth went on the road to defeat Keuka, 77-65. Haggard was a perfect 4-for-4 from 3-point land. Junior Jack Broderick notched his first double-double of the season with a career-high 11 rebounds, to go along with 10 points. 
 
With the victory, Nazareth improves to 8-6 overall and 5-1 in Empire 8 play, while the Wolves fall to 5-7 and 3-2, respectively.
 
Nazareth will have a big showdown on Saturday, hosting St. John Fisher in the Battle of the Beaks at 7 p.m. Tickets will be available at the door on a first come, first served basis. The Cardinals suffered their first conference defeat on Tuesday, 82-81 at Utica (6-0).
 
The visitors led wire-to-wire, starting off with Haggard drilling one of his four triples.  
 
Nazareth jumped out to its largest lead of the game at the 11:09 mark when Solomon McFarlane converted a layup to make it 25-7. He was efficient in 14 minutes of action, pouring in 12 points and five rebounds.
 
The Wolves, however, kept clawing over the final 11 minutes of the half and were able to cut the lead to single digits at the break, 39-31.
 
The home team was tough in the second, scratching their way throughout and eventually coming within one point at 59-58 with 6:35 remaining.
 
The game remained within five points until 3:30 remained. Nazareth was able to gain some breathing room by scoring six-straight points from Broderick, Logan Blankenberg, and Luke Insley. Blankenberg was the second leading scorer with 14 points and has now reached double figures in 12 of 14 games this season.
 
Insley chipped in 10 points and a game-high seven assists.
