Ousmane Kourouma's Personal Best Falls Short in, 80-70, Loss vs. Keene State

Providence, R.I.-- Senior forward Ousmane Kourouma (Woonsocket, R.I.) established a new career-high with 34 points to go along with 23 rebounds as the Rhode Island College men's basketball team lost vs. No. 13 Keene State, 80-70, in Little East action played at The Murray Center on Saturday afternoon.

HOW IT HAPPENED
• At the halfway mark of the first half, the Owls held a 21-10 lead thanks to seven points from fifth-year center Jeff Hunter (Hudson, Mass.).
 
• Kourouma's layup with 47 seconds left in the first half would conclude the scoring for the first 20 minutes. The visitors would bring a 41-27 lead into the locker room as Kourouma recorded a double-double with 14 points and 12 rebounds in the first half.
 
• A driving layup by junior guard Isiah McCallam (Orange, N.J.) would cut the host's deficit down to just six points, 65-59, with 5:33 left in the game.
 
• The Owls would respond by going on an 11-3 run over a 2:55 time span to take a 76-62 lead with less than three minutes remaining and the Anchormen were unable to close the gap down the stretch.
 
• Kourouma's rebound effort was one shy of his personal best as he recorded his 12th double-double of the year.
 
• Junior guard Deyshawn Tengbeh (East Providence, R.I.) finished with 12 points, six boards, three assists and a pair of steals.
