Men's Basketball upends NJCU, 76-63

NEWPORT NEWS, Va. – The Stevenson University men's basketball team got back in the win column on Thursday, taking out New Jersey City University 76-63 in the first game of the Captains Classic hosted by Christopher Newport.
 
With the win, the Mustangs (6-4) advance to play nationally-ranked Christopher Newport on Friday afternoon.
 
Nate Arrington had a game and team-high 19 points on 7-for-11 shooting, while Rasheed Cooley added in 17. Cameron Sapienza netted 12 off the bench as the Mustangs shot 45.6 percent from the field in the contest.
 
Leading by as much as 17, Stevenson held NJCU (3-9) to just 1-for-15 from the three-point line in the contest.
 
Cameron Smith had three blocks, while Arrington narrowly missed a double-double with nine rebounds.
