Men's Basketball Wins at Southern Maine, 70-66

Gorham, Maine—Sophomore guard Isaiah Dahl (Cornelius, Ore.) scored a team-high 20 points, while senior forward Ousmane Kourouma (Woonsocket, R.I.) recorded 14 points, 14 rebounds, three blocks, two steals and an assist for his seventh double-double, as the Rhode Island College men's basketball team defeated Southern Maine, 70-66, in Little East action played at Hill Gymnasium on Wednesday night.

HOW IT HAPPENED
• The Anchormen utilized the deep ball to start the first half, going 4-for-6 from three-point range in the first 10 minutes as Dahl canned three of them.
 
• The Huskies would go on a 10-0 run late in the first half to go up by five, 35-30, at halftime.
 
• RIC started the second half on a 20-7 run in the first five minutes. The Huskies went on a 10-0 run shortly thereafter to recapture a one-possession, 52-50, lead.
 
• With one minute remaining in the game, junior guard Isiah McCallam (Orange, N.J.) converted a layup to take a 67-66 lead for the Anchormen. Free throws by freshman guard CJ Wilson (Hartford, Conn.) would seal the victory.
 
• Junior guard Deyshawn Tengbeh (East Providence, R.I.) scored 10 points to go along with 14 boards and four steals in the win.

In upcoming action, Rhode Island College will continue Little East play at home vs. UMass Boston on Saturday, Dec. 9 (3 p.m.).
