DANBURY, Conn. - Six Wolves reached double figures in scoring as the Western Connecticut State University men's basketball team breezed past Plymouth State, 100-51, in the Little East Conference opener for both teams on Saturday afternoon at Feldman Arena. With the win, the Wolves improved to 5-1 overall and 1-0 in league play, while the Panthers plummeted to 4-4 and 0-1. 

Graduate student forward Jaheim Young (Brooklyn, N.Y.) led the way for the hosts, netting a game-high 19 points. Juniors Cameron Gallon (York, Pa.) and Jeremiah Williams (Brooklyn, N.Y.) chipped in with 14 points apiece. Gallon also snagged a game-high eight rebounds.

Senior guard Kyler Bosse (Manchester, N.H.) led the visitors with 11 points, while senior forward Christian Barr (Henniker, N.H.) contributed 10 points and seven boards.

WestConn got off to a fast start and would not look back. They jumped out to 12-0 lead before stretching it to 27-8 early in the first half. Williams tallied an offensive putback to finish off the flurry. The Wolves entered halftime with a 52-24 lead. The hosts continued to pounce on the Panthers in the second half and coasted the rest of the way.

For the game, WestConn utilized its full court pressure, forcing 21 turnovers while surrendering just 11. They also shot a respectable 48.7 percent from the floor while holding Plymouth to just a 28.4 percent clip. 

The Wolves will seek to extend their win streak to six games when they head to LEC foe UMass Boston on Wednesday at 7 p.m.
