MEADVILLE, Pa. -- The Allegheny College men's basketball team rocked the David V. Wise Center on Saturday afternoon as the Gators closed the regular season with an electric 111-62 victory over Waynesburg University.

During the team's Senior Day ceremonies, the Gators honored KC Johns (Sewickley, Pa./Quaker Valley), who is graduating a year early after three seasons, and Caden Hinckley (Boise, Idaho/Mt. Lebanon (Pa.)), who continued to build his legacy as one of Allegheny's all-time greats with another milestone performance against the Yellow Jackets.

Once the pregame festivities ended, Allegheny (17-8, 15-5 PAC) exploded for its highest-scoring game of the season. The game had AC's patented fireworks show from beyond the 3-point arc and featured a pair of second-half dunks from Hinckley and Isaiah Portis (Medina, Ohio/Norwayne) that brought the crowd to life.

Ten different players scored for Allegheny, and six reached double figures. Portis entered off the bench to net a game-high 21 points, while Ryan Lang (Sarver, Pa./Knoch) poured in 20. Hinckley finished with 15 points, Preston Turk (New Castle, Pa./Neshannock) produced 11, and both Luke Barker (New Castle, Pa./Struthers (Ohio)) and Andre Wilder (Beaver Falls, Pa./Lincoln Park) added 10 apiece.

With the score even at 7-all three minutes into the contest, Hinckley and Lang combined for a 15-point run over the next three minutes, and the Gators never looked back. Fueled by a pair of 3-pointers, Lang went off for 10 consecutive points during the scoring spree and paced all players with 14 points at the intermission.

Perhaps the highlight of the day came from Portis in the closing minutes. The first-year guard showed off his athleticism by driving to the rim and nearly putting a Waynesburg defender on a poster with a slam.
