NORTH MANCHESTER, Ind. - Manchester sweeps Bluffton after defeating the visiting Beavers 84-62 in men's basketball action on Tuesday, February 14. 

The Beavers scored first, taking the three point lead to open up Tuesday night's game. Manchester's offense would take the lead and maintain it throughout the remainder of the first half. The Spartans would outscore the Beavers 45-30 to take the 15 point lead at halftime. 

The Beavers were unable to stop the Spartan offense as Manchester extended their lead to 28 with just under eight minutes left to play in Tuesday night's contest. The Spartans outscored Bluffton 39-32 in the second half to walk away with the 22-point victory to improve to 15-9 overall and 13-4 in conference play. 

Leading the Black and Gold was Zach Sawyer (Columbus, Ohio, Bishop Watterson) with 23 points, going a perfect 12-12 the free throw line. Sawyer also added 1 block and 3 steals for the Spartans. Ty Lynas (Crawfordsville, Ind., Crawfordsville) finished the night with 13 points, while Bryant Smith (West Lafayette, Ind., Harrison) scored 12 points for MU. Logan Willoughby (Greenwood, Ind., Whiteland Community) added a team-high 5 assists and 3 steals, while Coy Hampton (Park Forest, Ill., Crete Monee) pulled down 7 rebounds and recorded 2 blocked shots for MU. As a team, Manchester shot 47.6% from the field, with 40 points in the paint and 23 points off turnovers. The Spartans also shot 34.6% from three-point range and 83.3% from the free throw line.

Cam Rogers led the Beavers with 17 points and 7 rebounds on Tuesday night. Brady Wheeler added 15 points while William Layfield finished the night with a team-high 4 assists. As a team, Bluffton shot 37.9% from the field, 40.0% from three-point range, and 70.6% from the free throw line. The Beavers fell to 5-19, 3-14 HCAC. 

Up next, Manchester men's basketball will battle for first place in the HCAC against rival Anderson University their regular season finale on Friday, February 17. The Spartans and Ravens will tip-off at 7:30 p.m. in Anderson, Ind.
