Wolves Cruise Past Gators 86-57

KEUKA PARK, N.Y. — The Keuka College Men's Basketball team defeated Russell Sage College 86-57 in an Empire 8 game at the JMW Recreation and Athletics Center on Friday night.

Keuka College (7-8, 3-7 Empire 8) was led by Devin Milton (Opelousas, La. / Beau Chene) with 20 points. Jaden Keasey (Newport News, Va. / Menchville) was right behind him with 19 points. Will Tehan (Victor, N.Y. / Victor) and Mason VanDeMortel (Newark, N.Y. / Newark) rounded out the double-digit scorers with 10 points apiece.

Keuka College 86 vs. Russell Sage College 57

Keuka College jumped out to an early lead over the Gators. Will Tehan made a driving layup to give Keuka a 13-4 lead 5:30 into the game to force Russell Sage into a timeout. The threes were falling for the Wolves as Devin Milton drained one. Will Tehan followed with a three of his own to make it 21-6. Toward the end of the half, Jaden Keasey had a personal 7-0 run. He laid in an in-bounds pass from Keion Brooks (Titusville, Fla. / Home-Schooled). Keasey followed with a trailing three on the next possession, and then collected a defensive rebound and ended up with a layup at the other end to push the lead to 41-15. That was a part of a 10-point run for Keuka. The Wolves took a 29-point lead, 46-17, into halftime.

The Gators opened the second half on an 8-2 run, but Jaden Keasey knocked down another three to stop the momentum. The Wolves pushed their lead to 30 for the first time as Devin Milton hit a three. He then made another on the next possession, was fouled, and converted the four-point play to make it 63-32. Keuka College led by as many as 37 in the game and saw the second half out for the 86-57 victory.

  • Keuka College improves to 4-2 all-time against Russell Sage. The Wolves have won three straight over the Gators and are 3-0 on their home floor
  • Russell Sage's 17 points in the first half tied for the third-fewest allowed by Keuka in a half in program history
  • Jaden Keasey set a new career-high with 19 points in the win
  • Keasey was one of four Wolves to tie for the team lead with six rebounds. Lorenzo Bicknese (Somers, N.Y. / Somers), Mason VanDeMortel, and Alijah Ellis (Portsmouth, Va. / Indian River / Fork Union Military Academy) also had six rebounds against the Gators
  • Keuka had a season-high 52 rebounds as a team. It was their first time over 50 rebounds since November 2021

Up Next for Keuka College: The Wolves will look to ride the momentum into another Empire 8 Conference game on Saturday. Keuka College will host Hartwick College at 4 p.m. at the JMW Recreation and Athletics Center. The Hawks clipped the Wolves 80-61 back in December.
