MEADVILLE, Pa. -- The Allegheny College men's basketball team put on an impressive display in the first half against Franciscan University on Saturday evening, which lifted the Gators to a lopsided 102-63 win over the Barons inside the David. V. Wise Center.

Led by yet another monster performance from senior big man Caden Hinckley (Boise, Idaho/Mt. Lebanon (Pa.)), Allegheny (12-6, 10-3 PAC) threatened to reach - if not set - a new program record for points. The Gators scored 64 in the first half, exactly half of the team's single-game record of 128 from the 2004-05 season.

However, leading 64-26 over the Barons (4-13, 1-11 PAC) at the intermission, Allegheny chose instead to slow the pace and walk away with the 39-point victory.

Hinckley, who already joined the 1,000-point club and set a new single-game record for blocks this winter, added another signature atop the Allegheny leaderboards. Not only did the 6-foot-8 forward go off for a career-high 33 points and tie a career-best with 19 rebounds, but he also blocked a pair of Franciscan shots to become the Gators' all-time leader with 123 rejections throughout his illustrious career. Hinckley broke a two-way tie with Garret Dagget (121) for the milestone and has seven more games left on the regular-season schedule to distance himself from second place.
