NEW LONDON, Conn. – The Connecticut College men's basketball team dropped a 73-70 decision in overtime against Albertus Magnus College on Thursday night in non-conference action at Luce Field House.

The Falcons outscored the Camels 5-2 in extra time to pull out the victory, improving to 9-7 overall on the season. Terry Dawkins (Bronx, N.Y.) and Justice Washington (Hamden, Conn.) each posted double-doubles on the night, the former with 15 points and 10 rebounds and the latter with 14 points and 14 boards.

Conn, which wrapped up its non-conference slate, lost for just the second time at home this season. Jarron Flynn (Roslindale, Mass.) netted a game-high 18 points to go with seven rebounds and three assists. David Murray (Jackson Heights, N.Y.) tacked on 16 points and six caroms while Cam Schainfeld (Newton, Mass.) chipped in 15 points.

Albertus led by as many as 11 points in the opening half and held a 35-26 advantage at the break. Washington shot 4-for-6 in the stanza and led all scorers with 10 points at intermission.

A jumper by Murray and a three-pointer by Billy Whelan (Hamilton, Mass.) gave the Camels a boost in the opening minute of the second half. However, Conn continued to play from behind until a 7-0 burst tied the game at 47-47 with 12:17 remaining.

Minutes later, Schainfeld converted a pair of free throws to give the hosts their first lead of the half at 51-50. The lead ping-ponged between the two sides until Albertus ripped off an 11-2 run to go up 68-60 with 2:39 left. Kevin Crawford (Bridgeport, Conn.) accounted for seven points during the stretch, which seemingly put the Falcons in control.

Conn came roaring back again, this time with eight straight points over the final 2:19 of regulation. Flynn got things rolling with a three-point play, and Murray followed with a jump hook in the lane. After another bucket by Flynn cut the deficit to one with 50 seconds to go, the Camels got a big stop on the defensive end. Ben Rice (Hanson, Mass.) then evened the score at 68-68 with a free throw with 16.7 seconds to play.

Albertus had one final chance to end the game in regulation but came up empty. However, the Falcons drew first blood in OT on a jumper by Antonio Bonilla (Tenafly, N.J.), and the visitors never trailed again. Conn shot just 1-for-6 in the extra frame and missed all five of its attempts from long range, including a last-second three that would have forced another overtime.
