How it Happened
After going into the half down four points due to a 10-3 opening run in favor of WIT, the Gryphons worked their way back into the game methodically, using their strong defense to create turnovers and knotting the game up at 48 with 10:30 left in the contest. Three consecutive three-pointers ignited the final rally, as Kelly and John Kairouz both connected from deep to tie the game at 53 and then take a 56-53 advantage. Almost a minute later Dougherty connected on his second long ball of the game to give Sarah Lawrence a six-point cushion. The Gryphons turned up the defensive intensity late in the game as they held WIT to just seven points in the final nine minutes of play and remained in control until the final buzzer.
