CARLISLE, PA – The 15th-ranked Johns Hopkins men's basketball team got 20 points from graduate student Tom Quarry and a double-double from senior Sidney Thybulle in a 71-54 win at Dickinson Wednesday night.

Trailing by two early, sophomore John Windley scored on a driving layup to spark 14-2 run. Quarry and junior Will Sykes fueled the run with a combined 10 points as the Blue Jays went up 14-4 with 12:14 to play in the first. The teams then traded buckets over a three-minute span and JHU led 20-13. Dickinson responded with seven straight points and tied the game on an Aaron Bailey free throw at the 7:25-mark.

Quarry ended the run with a bucket from downtown, followed by a Thybulle layup and the lead was back to five. Andrew Gostovich answered with a layup, but the Blue Jays came right back with a layup from Thybulle and a triple from graduate student Jayden Nixon to put JHU up 30-22. Skyler Venezia and Brandon Wiercinski then sandwiched three-pointers around a Nixon layup and it was a four-point game with 2:01 on the clock. Nixon and Quarry closed the half with back-to-back three-pointers as the Blue Jays took a 38-28 lead into the half.

Thybulle and Quarry opened the second with a pair of layups and just like that Hopkins' lead was 14. Dickinson rallied with an 8-4 spurt to trim the lead to 10 with 14:49 to play. The Blue Jays responded with 14-7 run over a 10-minute span to go up 60-43. The Red Devils outscored the Jays 7-2 in just 48 seconds to cut the lead to 12 with 4:12 on the clock. That's as close as they could get however as Hopkins drained three three-pointers in the final four minutes to secure the win.

Quarry went 7-of-9 from the field, including 4-of-5 from downtown, to lead all scorers with 20 points. He now has 985 points in his career and needs just 15 to become the 19th 1,000-point scorer in program history. Nixon finished with a career-high 12 points, seven boards, two blocks and two steals. Thybulle posted his first double-double of the season, and fourth of his career, with 10 points and a game-high 10 rebounds. Venezia led the Red Devils with 15 points, while Isiah Edmond added 10 points and three steals.

Hopkins shot 50 percent from the field, including 40.9 percent from three-point range. The Blue Jays also dominated on the boards, outrebounding the Red Devils, 52-24.

Hopkins returns to action on Saturday, January 7 as the Blue Jays host Haverford. Tip-off at Goldfarb Gym is slated for 3:00 pm.
