GLASSBORO, NJ -- Rowan powered its way past Salisbury, 106-92, on Saturday for its eighth-straight win. Andrew Seager tied a personal-best in scoring as he paced six players in double figures with a game-high 27 points. Ja'Zere Noel bucketed 24 points as the Profs led from start to finish to improve to 8-2 on the year.
As a team, Rowan hit 11 three-pointers (42%) and shot over 50% from the floor with Seager and Noel having three triples apiece. Connor Dickerson (13 points), Marcellus Ross (12 points), Josh Wright (11 points) and Stretch Hawkins (10 points) all helped the Profs eclipse the century mark for the fourth time this season.
Greg Bloodworth led the Sea Gulls with 26 points with teammate Kaiden Davis adding 16 off the bench.
Seager's triple early in the first half gave the Profs a 21-10 lead. Salisbury looked to answer with a 17-9 spurt to get within 28-27 near the midway point of the stanza. The lead swelled back up to 42-33 after Seager's coast-to-coast dunk with 3:15 to go, but the Sea Gulls kept things close, cutting the score to 50-44 in favor of the home team at the half.
The Profs opened the second on a 14-6 run to inflate the lead back into double digits. Again, the Sea Gulls made one last push as a three from Davis pulled the visitors to 64-58 with 12 minutes in the contest. A game-changing 19-5 stretch from Rowan was capped with a trifecta from Noel at the 8:11 mark of the period, giving Rowan its largest lead of the game (86-63).
Seager, Noel, and D'Andre Vilmar all grabbed seven rebounds each. Vilmar doled out four assists as well.
Rowan returns to action on Thursday, December 29th at the Randolph-Macon Coaches Tournament when the Profs take on Maryville at 5 p.m. The following day, the Profs take on either the host Yellow Jackets or Lancaster Bible in the consolation or championship.
