VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. – Senior Miles Mallory (Beltsville, Md./St. Vincent Pallotti) led all players with 24 points and 12 rebounds as the eighth-ranked Randolph-Macon men's basketball team posted a 66-49 win at Virginia Wesleyan in ODAC action on Wednesday evening to hand the Marlins their first loss of the season.

How it Happened:
- After the Marlins netted the first bucket of the contest. Mallory tied it with a jumper and a basket by junior Lance Johnson (South Riding, Va./Freedom) capped a 9-0 run as the Yellow Jackets took a 9-2 lead with 15:20 left in the first half. VWU cut it to five before a three-pointer by Johnson made it 14-6 with 13 minutes remaining. The Marlins closed to within five before a jumper by freshman Keishawn Pulley Jr. (Louisa, Va./St. Christopher's) ended an 8-2 spurt as R-MC built a double-digit advantage at 24-13 with 5:30 left. The Marlins narrowed the gap to none before senior Josh Talbert (Virginia Beach, Va./Kellam) had two jumpers in a 6-0 run as the Yellow Jackets led 34-19 with 37 seconds remaining. VWU hit a trey to end the scoring in the period as R-MC was up 34-22 at the break. Talbert had eight points and two assists, while Mallory put up six points, eight rebounds and two blocks. R-MC had a 24-6 advantage on points in the paint.
- VWU started the second half on a 6-2 spurt before a three-point play by Mallory and a jumper by Johnson made it 41-28 with 15:30 left. The Marlins tallied six straight points before a bucket by Talbert and four points by Mallory pushed the lead back to 13 at 47-34 with 10:45 remaining. A basket by Pulley put the Yellow Jackets up 19 at 62-43 with 4:45 left. VWU closed to within 15 before freshman Jabril Robinson (Derwood, Md./South Kent Prep) hit the final bucket to make the final score 66-49.

- The Yellow Jackets had two score in double figures. Along with 24 by Mallory, Talbert finished with 12. Johnson finished with a season-high 9, going 4 for 4 from the floor and hitting his only three-point attempt.

- The Yellow Jackets had a 33-27 edge on the glass. Mallory had 12 boards and junior Daniel Mbangue (Fairfax, Va./Fairfax) grabbed six.
