BALTIMORE, MD – The 10th-ranked Johns Hopkins men's basketball team tied the school record with 17 three-pointers in a 92-58 win over visiting Mary Washington Sunday afternoon.

Hopkins jumped out to a 16-2 lead in the game's opening six minutes, fueled by a combined 13 points from seniors Carson James and Sidney Thybulle. Mary Washington pulled back within single digits thanks to three-pointers from Greg Rowson and Dashawn Cook.

Graduate student Jayden Nixon then drained a three on the other end to spark another 16-2 run as the Blue Jays' lead ballooned to 23 with 8:23 to play in the first. Five different Blue Jays scored during the run, capped by a Thybulle layup that put JHU up 33-10. The teams went back-and-forth over the final eight minutes of the half and Hopkins took a 48-27 lead into the break.

After trading buckets early in the second half, the Blue Jays led 52-32 at the 17:34-mark. Graduate student Ethan Bartlett then hit his fourth triple of the game to kick-start a 17-4 run that spanned just over five minutes. Fifteen of the Blue Jays' 17 points came from behind the arc. A fast-break three from graduate student Tom Quarry punctuated the run and staked Hopkins to a 69-36 lead with 12:10 to go.

The Eagles got the deficit under 30 just twice over the next five minutes, but that's as close as they would get. The Blue Jays would lead by as much as 35 before grabbing the 34-point margin of victory.

James was one of three Blue Jays in double figures as he finished with 18 points, to go with eight rebounds and five assists. Quarry added 14 points, four assists and three steals. Bartlett scored 12 on four-of-six shooting from downtown. Rowson led the Eagles with a game-high 20 points, while Emmanuel Aghayere and Dorian Davis added 10 points each.

Hopkins returns to action on Tuesday, November 29 at Washington College. Tip-off at Cain Athletic Center is slated for 8:00 pm.
