WOOSTER, OHIO- The Randolph men's basketball played Mount Aloysius in the consolation game of the Al Van Wie/Wooster Classic on Saturday afternoon. Four players scored in double digits for Randolph as they defeated the Mounties 90-66.

With the game tied at 3-3 at 18:27 of the first half, Randolph broke through with a 19-4 run spanning seven minutes of game time to go ahead 23-7. Mount Aloysius would close to 11 points but the 'Cats closed out the half with a 9-0 run to go up 48-28 at the break. The WildCat only dipped below 20 points once in the second half when it was 19 but the game was firmly in control by that time as Randolph cruised to the victory.

Randolph shot 47.9% (35-of-73) from the floor and was 12-of-25 (48%) from behind the three-point arc. The WildCats finished a perfect 8-of-8 from the charity stripe.

The Mounties had a 44-41 edge in rebounds. Randolph led in points off turnovers 21-14, second chance points 24-17, bench points 30-25, and points in the paint 44-16.

"Really proud of the maturity our guys showed after dropping a tough one last night," said head coach Pete Hamilton after the game. "We felt we could have gotten the Friday night game and sometimes that can put teams in a tough spot to go out and compete the following afternoon. Our guys showed extreme focus and a real dedication to each other to start the game today."

Danny Bickey (Beckley, W.V./Woodrow Wilson) led Randolph with 25 points on 9-of-14 shooting. He dished out four assists and came away with two steals. He was also named to the All-Tournament Team. Jordan Phillips McLoyd (Johnson City, Tenn./Science Hill) added 15 points, four assists, two rebounds, and two steals. Jerry Goodman (Suffolk, Va./Portsmouth Christian School) scored 12 points and dished out three assists. Landon Wagoner (Martinsville, Va./Carlisle School) also scored 12 points and grabbed five rebounds. Cole Perry (Salisbury, N.C./Jesse Carson HS) came down with seven rebounds and four assists.

"Jerry did a great job handling pressure and playing through some very physical defense," noted Hamilton. "We fought through initial pressure and we were able to get assists on the back end. 20 assists in a game is something to really be proud of. Landon Wagoner really came out of his shell today and made some aggressive offensive moves for us. He finished plays when he had 1-on-1 situations and did a great job on the boards. Congratulations to Danny Bickey for making the All-Tournament Team. He plays such a consistent game and his motion is so hard to keep up with. Our guys did a nice job of continuing to find him throughout the weekend."

Randolph will next play at Mary Baldwin on Tuesday. Game time will be at 6:00 p.m.
