How it Happened
The Gryphons and Road Runners found themselves trading baskets for much of the first half. While the Ramapo defense was holding Sarah Lawrence in check for much of the first 20 minutes, DiFabio kept the Gryphons in the game with five three-pointers and 19 total first-half points, including a buzzer-beating shot from half-court to tie the game before the half and give the Gryphons some momentum and energy as they approached the final 20 minutes of play.

Coming out of halftime, the back-and-forth play continued, as the two teams traded the lead for the first 10 minutes of the half before the Road Runners started to pull away from the Gryphons. Following a timeout with just under 12 minutes remaining, Ramapo went on a 15-0 run until John Kairouz broke the streak with just 3:40 remaining in the contest. At that point it was too little, too late despite Sarah Lawrence's best efforts, including closing the lead to seven following a Brady Burman layup with just over a minute remaining. Late free-throws from Ramapo led to the final score giving a much different impression of the game than in reality, as the 10-point victory was not indicative of the close contest that was played.
