STORM LAKE, Iowa (Nov. 14, 2022) - Buena Vista junior men's basketball player Zane Neubaum has been named the first American Rivers Conference Men's Basketball Performer of the Week this season following his performances during the opening week of the 2022-23 campaign.

For the week, Neubaum averaged 27.0ppg and 5.5rpg while shooting 54 percent from the free-throw line and 78 percent at the free-throw line.

During the team's season-opening victory over Westminster on Saturday, Neubaum scored BVU's final 15 points and totaled 37 for the game. He also made 16 of his 20 attempts from the charity stripe which is the highest single-game total in DIII so far this season. He followed that effort up by scoring a team-high 17 points the following day as the Beavers rolled to a 90-57 victory over Fontbonne.

This is the third time in Neubaum's career that he's earned such weekly recognition.

Buena Vista is 2-0 on the year and will play at Saint John's University (Minn.) on Nov. 16 with tip-off at 7 p.m.
