Hope turns back Kalamazoo, sets up showdown with Calvin

Five double-digit scorers powered the Hope College men's basketball team to an 85-79 victory at Kalamazoo College on Monday and a share of the MIAA lead.
 
The Flying Dutchmen (17-6 overall, 10-2 MIAA) hosts fellow league leader Calvin University on Wednesday, Feb. 16, at 8 p.m. at DeVos Fieldhouse. The winner clinches a share of the MIAA regular-season title.
 
Junior guard Evan Thomas topped Hope with 22 points. The Flying Dutchmen shot 54.4 percent as a team, their second-highest clip of the season.
 
Junior point guard Clayton Dykhouse (Zeeland East HS) scored 19 points for Hope. The Flying Dutchmen also received 12 apiece from senior guard Tyler George (Forest Hills Central) and Josh Lilja. It was a career-high for Lilja. Senior forward Jeff Bikus added 11 points.
 
Josh Decker's 24 points topped Kalamazoo (5-17, 2-9 MIAA).
