ASHLAND, Va. – Senior Buzz Anthony (Arnold, Md./Archbishop Spalding) matched his career high with 32 points on Senior Day as the top-ranked Randolph-Macon men's basketball team defeated Shenandoah 102-60 in ODAC action on Saturday afternoon to extend its win streak to 16.

How it Happened:
- Senior DaQuan Morris (Philadelphia, Pa./Hill School) hit a three-pointer and Anthony had a triple and a layup as the Yellow Jackets jumped out to an 8-1 lead two minutes into the contest. The Hornets used a 9-1 spurt to level the score at 10-10 with 15 minutes left in the first half. Anthony had seven points and senior Ian Robertson (Lewes, Del./Cape Henlopen) had a pair of treys as part of a 33-8 run as R-MC took a 43-18 advantage with 3:15 remaining. Anthony hit another three-pointer and Morris sank two free throws as the Yellow Jackets led 48-22 at the break. Anthony had 15 points and Morris added eight for the home team.
- Following a steal, Junior Josh Talbert (Virginia Beach, Va./Kellam) had a driving layup to push the lead to 27 at 55-28 with 16:20 remaining. A three-point play by sophomore Daniel Mbangue (Fairfax, Va./Fairfax) and a three-pointer by sophomore Will Coble (Charlotte, N.C./Davidson Day) extended the lead to 30 at 70-40 with 11:50 left. A triple by Anthony and a layup by Robertson made it 84-49 with 6:45 remaining. Coble hit two treys to take R-MC to 100 points and freshman Ash Ally (Melbourne, Australis/Nossal) had a layup for his first points of the season to make the final 102-60.
By The Numbers:
- The Yellow Jackets had four score in double figures. Along with 32 by Anthony, Coble had a career-best 20, Talbert finished with 12 and Morris added 11.
- Anthony went 10 for 14 from the floor and 8 for 11 from beyond the arc. Over the past two games, he was 20-29 on field goals (69%) and 13 for 19 on three-pointers (68%).
- Coble had career highs with seven field goals and six three-pointers. He was 6 for 9 from beyond the arc.
- R-MC had a 40-35 advantage on the glass. Morris and sophomore Lance Johnson (South Riding, Va./Freedom) both had season highs with seven rebounds, while senior David Funderburg (Greensboro, N.C./Northwest Guilford) pulled down six.
- Anthony topped the victors with six assists, while Talbert and junior Loginn Norton (Chesterfield, Va./James River) each had five. It was a career high for Norton.
- The Yellow Jackets committed nine turnovers and had just three in the second half. R-MC has had a total of 21 turnovers in the past three games.
For The Record:
- The Yellow Jackets have won 43 straight home games, the longest current streak in Division III.
- R-MC has won 16 straight games and 39 of its past 40 contests.
- The Yellow Jackets have won 10 straight against SU.
- Over the past four seasons, R-MC is 89-7 overall (.927) and 47-2 in ODAC contests (.959).
- The Yellow Jackets reached the century mark in points for the first time this season. The last time R-MC scored 100 was Feb. 2, 2021, a 102-51 victory at Shenandoah.
- Mallory had one block to raise his career total to 155, the second-highest total in program history. Pat Holland owns the R-MC record with 174
- Anthony had 32 points to give him 1,813 for his career, moving him past Irv Sentz (1962-66) for third place on the school's all-time scoring list.
- Anthony had six assists to give him 712, the most in ODAC history and the second-highest total in program history. Paul Jez owns the R-MC record with 747.
- Anthony went 4 for 4 from the free throw line to raise his career free throw shooting percentage to .874, second in program history to Bryan Vacca (1979-83) at .879.
