Neumann Never Trails in Victory Over Cyclones

ASTON, Pa. – The Neumann University men's basketball team never trailed in a 91-62 win over Centenary University in an Atlantic East Conference contest on Saturday afternoon.

 

Jalen Vaughns led five Knights in double-digits with 25 points while grabbing 12 rebounds. Ryan Starr netted 17 points and handed out seven assists. TJ Lewis each tallied 17 points. Tony James notched 10 points and eight assists. Justin Smith dropped 10 points.

 

Tied at 10 five minutes into the game, a jumper by James gave Neumann a lead it wouldn't relinquish. Leading by three, 20-17, the Knights netted the next 11 points for a 31-17 advantage. The teams traded three-pointers just before the half for a 43-25 Neumann lead at the half.

 

A dunk by Vaughns opened the second half and the Knights didn't look back. A three-pointer by Starr with 6:11 remaining in regulation put Neumann up by 30, 82-52. Twelve different Knights had at least a point or rebound in the win.  

 

Neumann (13-6, 5-1 Atlantic East) will host Immaculata on Monday evening in a rescheduled conference game. Action is slated to get underway at 7:00 PM.
