Center Valley, PA (February 2, 2022) - Senior Dat Lambert scored 12 of his 14 points in the second-half leading the DeSales University men's basketball team past Stevens, 63-51, in MAC Freedom action on Wednesday evening in Billera Hall.

How it Happened
- DSU struggled early going 4:24 before making its first basket of the game before the bench gave the Bulldogs a boost going erasing a 7-2 deficit early with a 21-10 spurt to claim a 23-17 lead at the 7:14 mark.
- The bench did almost all the work during the run as eight different players scored during the run.
- The Ducks scored six straight points to the game at 23 before a 3 from junior Jordan Holmqvist helped DeSales take a 27-25 lead into the halftime locker room.
- The Bulldogs stormed out of the halftime gates to start the second-half extending its two-point advantage up to 14 with a 15-3 run to start the second-half.
- Lambert was on fire during the spurt with three 3's.
- The lead hovered between nine and 16 points the rest of the way as DeSales kept control of the game and hit 7-of-9 from the charity stripe over the final 2:24 to ice the win.
Top Bulldog Performers
- Lambert was the lone player in double digits scoring 12 of his 14 points in the second-half.
- Sophomore Christian Guldin led a strong bench effort with nine points and added six rebounds.
- Senior Matt Kachelries had eight points and four assists and senior Timmy Edwards had seven points.
For the Foes
- Matt Crowley finished with 13 points and Alex DiPietrantonio added nine points and 13 rebounds.
- Jack Spellman was very close to a triple-double with 10 points, 10 rebounds, and eight blocks in the loss.
Inside the Box Score
- Neither team shot well with DSU hitting 32.8 percent for the game and Stevens just 33.3 percent.
- DeSales controlled the glass, out-rebounding Stevens, 47-39.
